A bonus episode of Sounds of Silva: a few song selections to help welcome in the Summer Solstice and keep you company on breezy afternoon drives or winding down with the sunset.
Beach House - “Black Magic”
A staple in any breezy, nostalgic music playlist, Beach House put out a new EP called Become with outtakes from their Once Twice Melody album. It’s more classic Beach House vibes – hazy, yet familiar. I put on the two releases as I was driving home late last night, and I couldn’t have imagined a better Summer evening soundtrack.

Advantage Lucy - “Citrus”
This is your new favorite band. Not many people have probably heard of Japan’s Advantage Lucy (or their former name Lucy Van Pelt), but their existence around the turn of the century foretold the future of indie pop.

Andy Shauf - “Telephone”
Andy Shauf has built a dedicated following over the last few years with his consistently endearing storytelling and warm sonic soundscapes, and his new record is another beautiful entry in his oeuvre.

Warm Human - “Daylight Savings”
Chicago-based artist Meredith Johnston records as Warm Human – their new record Hometown Hero is fantastic, and single “Daylight Savings” is a motoring track brimming with anxiety. It’s a beautiful reflection of our existence and reexamination of why we do what we do. Time is a construct.

Hozier - “Unknown”
Please Hoz, don’t hurt ‘em.
Hozier teased this track on his TikTok page a long time ago and after much clamoring from his fans intently waiting to be heartbroken, he finally released the song as a single in anticipation of new record Unreal Unearth.
